Gabriel Fauré

Gabriel Fauré

1845 – 1924

Gabriel Fauré was one of the foremost French composers of his generation, and his works have influenced countless composers. He is particularly well-known for his earlier works, which are often filled with a sense of nostalgic charm, though by the end of his life, he was working alongside new developments in jazz and atonal music, and many of his later works bridge the gap between romanticism and modernism.
