Mata — Lumininiscence for Double Bass and Cello: Rodrigo Mata — Video Course

LUMINISCENCE is a tonal piece that develops a bluegrass-tinged theme that in different ways evokes reflections of light and color through the sound of the two intermingled instruments. In some sections the particular technique known as flageolet pizzicato or harp pizzicato is used in both instruments and is contrasted with the natural singing of the bowed sound.

This work is dedicated to a great friend and excellent cellist Ema Grčman.

The premiere was held at the Norwegian Academy of Music, in May 2022, performed by: Ema Grčman - cello and Sverker Rundqvist - double bass.
