J. S. Bach – Sonata for Viola da Gamba in D major: Scott Pingel — PDF Sheet Music
PDF Sheet Music File
Bach’s sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord have become a mainstay of the repertoire for cellists and double bassists. Likely written during Bach’s time in Leipzig in the late 1730s and early 1740s, the sonata in D major was likely first heard in a cafe frequented by Bach where weekly chamber music concerts were held. In this version for double bass by Scott Pingel, the performer is given suggestions of bowings and fingerings. Accompaniment parts are available in orchestral and solo tuning.
Double Bass music purchased from String Virtuoso Shop comes with both a clean part and a part with bowings and fingerings from the editor.
