Donat Zamiara

Donat Zamiara is a musician from Gniezno, Poland. He began playing the double bass at the age of fifteen at the M. Karłowicz High School of Music, studying under Professor Przemysław Rotengruber. He achieved his first accolades in Elbląg in 1997 and graduated with distinction from the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in 2003, where he was mentored by Professor Piotr Czerwiński.

In 2002, Zamiara joined the St. Moniuszko Wielki Theatre in Poznań. Within three years, he was promoted to the position of soloist and section leader. Alongside performing, he began teaching at the Music School of the 1st and 2nd Degree in Konin. In 2005, he took a teaching position at the Music School Complex in Poznań.

In 2013, he earned a position as an assistant professor at his alma mater, which he obtained through a competitive selection process.

Donat Zamiara is an accomplished concert soloist, having performed with both the Wielki Theatre Orchestra and the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music Orchestra. He is notable for premiering T. Z. Kassern's "Concert for Double Bass and Orchestra, Op. 12," which is dedicated to the Polish virtuoso Adam Bronisław Ciechański, in collaboration with composer Dominik Puk.
