PDF Sheet Music File
Bogusław Furtok’s Double Bass Quartet No. 5 was written in 2005 in the sunny atmosphere of the Côte d’Azur in France. The piece was originally composed for Furtok’s ensemble, The Flying Basses, who have performed and recorded this work to great acclaim. Furtok’s style has been influenced by a variety of composers, including the film music of John Williams and the orchestral music of Shostakovich and Mahler. Furtok’s music is full of energy at times, and deep and brooding at others, but is always a joy to play.
