Sally Goodworth
Sally Goodworth has a busy career as an accompanist and has been regularly employed in this role by Brunel and Reading Universities, The London College of Music, The Oxford Flute Summer School, the RAF, Berkshire Maestros, and Candlelight Opera. Since studying jointly at the RNCM and Manchester University she has performed with many duos and ensembles throughout the UK and Europe in many diverse venues including the South Bank, Wigmore Hall, and Windsor Castle, and has toured frequently in Europe and China as accompanist to the Berkshire Youth Choir.
She has performed with many principal orchestral players in masterclasses and recitals and has recorded an album of English music entitled Elgar’sTrombone with members of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. A previous album entitled Velvet Afternoon (original music for flute and piano by John Hackett) enjoyed worldwide success on the Camino Record label.
Sally was a visiting accompanist, lecturer in keyboard skills, and a mentor in piano pedagogy at Reading University for many years and currently holds a full-time position as Music Coordinator at Brunel University, where her roles include being musical director for degree and extra-curricular musical theatre productions as well as teaching piano, directing chamber and vocal ensembles, and organising the music award scheme. She is also head of piano for MTB Exams. Other freelance projects have included outreach work with the ECO, performing in Sir Peter Hall’s award winning film She’s Been Away and being a piano hand double and recording soundtrack music for the last ever Poirot film Curtains.
