Wolfram Wagner

Wolfram Wagner was born in Vienna in 1962 and studied composition with Erich Urbanner and Francis Burt in Vienna and with Robert Saxton at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

He won several international and national awards (internet. Anton Bruckner Price Linz 1997, Publicity Price from AKM Austria, Appreciation-Price of Lower Austria 2008 ect.) and lives now in Vienna, where he teaches composition, harmony and counterpoint at the University of Music and Drama.

During the season 1992/93 Wagner was Composer in Residence of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, London, which lead to the premiere of the orchestra work "Dances in the Ether" in London, Queen Elizabeth Hall.

So far Wagner wrote 5 operas, 2 short operas, 4 oratorios, 1 ballet, works for orchestra, choir, chamber music and songs. His compositions have been performed, recordet and broadcasted in many European countries, in the USA, South America, Korea and Japan. His works are published at Doblinger, Helbling, Hofmeister, contemp art, apoll edition and NÖ Musikedition.
