Maurice Ravel
1875-1937
Maurice Ravel is one of the greatest French composers of the 20th century. His unique style combines influences as varied as modernism, baroque, and jazz, and is instantly recognisable for its delicacy of orchestration. He only wrote very few works during his lifetime, many of which exist in versions for both solo piano and orchestra.
