Fabrizio Buzzi

Fabrizio Buzzi is the second prize winner of the VIII “Giovanni Bottesini” International Competition and currently serves as Principal Double Bass at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. From his earliest years of study, he won national and international competitions, earning recognition with the Premio Nazionale delle Arti in 2020, followed by First Prize at the Milan Conservatory in 2021, the “W. Benzi” national competition, the “Dragoni” Prize, the “Massimo Giorgi” competition and ultimately the Bottesini award in 2022.

In 2024, he won the audition for Principal Double Bass at the Teatro di San Carlo, establishing himself as one of the leading young Italian orchestral musicians. He has also performed as Principal Double Bass with the Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala in Milan and collaborated with numerous professional orchestras, including the Filarmonica della Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and others. He is regularly invited as a soloist, consistently earning critical acclaim.

His main teachers have been Giuseppe Ettorre and Franco Petracchi, and he has also attended masterclasses with renowned artists such as Alberto Bocini, Francesco Siragusa, Enrico Fagone, Thomas Martin, David Desimpelaire, Lorraine Campet, and Wies de Boevé.
