Serge Lancen
Serge Lancen was a French composer and pianist. Born in Paris in 1922, Lancen was interested in music from an early age. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, learning piano with Marguerite Long and Lazare Lévy, and harmony and counterpoint with Toby Aubin and Noël Gallon. In 1950 he received the 2nd Prix de Rome and a number of other awards for his compositions. His works include a wide range of pieces, from symphonic music to chamber music, and concertos for flute, double bass, and harp.
