Regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time, Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach in modern-day Germany. Bach was a highly prolific composer, writing over 1,000 works and cementing the Germanic musical tradition as the mainstream of the Baroque era through his mastery of counterpoint, harmony, and motivic organisation.
