Alessandra Avico
Alessandra Avico was born in 1997 and studied under Davide Botto at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Turin, graduating in 2015 with full marks and honours. She was awarded second prize at the Premio Nazionale delle Arti and twice achieved first prize at the Werther Benzi Concorso Nazionale. She was awarded the De Sono Associazione per la musica and Fondazione Crt scholarships and completed her postgraduate studies with Alberto Bocini at the Haute école de musique de Genève.
Alessandra has performed as principal double bass with the Filarmonica di Torino and the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, as well as section double bass with the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino. She has also performed as guest principal double bass with the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini and guest section double bass at the Orchestra del Teatro Alla Scala in Milan and the Haydn Orchester. She currently performs with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai.
