Difficulty: Advanced

Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane is one of the composer’s most popular pieces, originally written for piano but most frequently heard in its version for orchestra with optional chorus. What started as a light piece has become a classic, imitated by many and arranged for a variety of different instruments. This version for double bass and piano makes the most of the singing upper register of the instrument, and includes some passages where the double bass accompanies the piano with pizzicato.
