Luminiscence for Double Bass and Cello

LUMINISCENCE is a tonal piece that develops a bluegrass-tinged theme that in different ways evokes reflections of light and color through the sound of the two intermingled instruments. In some sections the particular technique known as flageolet pizzicato or harp pizzicato is used in both instruments and is contrasted with the natural singing of the bowed sound.
